Does this construction always require indicative or can it also be used with subjunctive?
In the test the question was:
I become a vegetarian while my sister becomes a vegan. : Yo me hago vegetariana mientras mi hermana se haga vegana.
Shouldn't it be "mientras mi hermana se hace vegana"? Since mientras is used as "while" in this sentence?
Thanks much
Kaly
The test question was to conjugate maldecir into the "they" form but no explanation of how to do so was given, only for "decir" ("dicen"). But maldecir does not follow the same rule as "decir" it seem because the correct conjugation was shown to be "maldicen" (and not "maldecen," which would match the "decir" pattern). Why is there a difference in the conjugation pattern between decir and maldecir? Is there a rule to be learned? Thanks!
Hola todos,
Hoping you are all well.
I have 2 questions on this exercise:
that broke the monotony of black and white.
1-) re: que rompía la monotonía del blanco y negro.
I wrote: "del negro y blanco."
Could you tell me why the Spanish inverts the adjectives. (I even checked with Reverso and they translated it the same way.
2) re: and people liked it.
Kwizbot y a la gente le gustaba.
You y le gustaba a la gente.
Don't know why this particular arrangement would be the only one possible?
Thank you.
Nicole
In the sentence "Al calentar la leche me quemé" I feel like in English we would use a comma between 'leche' and 'me' to separate the two clauses. Is this not the case in Spanish? (I might have it wrong in English.)
Hello,
When is a noun regular and when is it irregular?
Nouns that end with an -o or -a are regular and everything else is irregular?
¿Por qué hay tilde en “ ésa”?
“ésa sería mi abuela Carmen sin duda.”
Why is the translation la llegada de la primavera?
Why do I need a definite article in front of primavera?
I heard, 'los pueblos mas bonitos' but the given answer was 'del concurso'.
