I picked the wrong answer here because in all of the examples given in the lesson, the verb dar agrees with the subject of the sentence. That wasn't the case here, I assume because this sentence is written in a passive form. The subject of this sentence is "meeting" (singular) whereas the correct verb form given is "han dado." I assume the "han" agrees with the "they" who reached an agreement?
Why is "Quiero un abrigo rosado" wrong? Don't rosa and rosado mean the same thing?
Why are there pronouns attached to the verbs in the first three examples but not in the remaining examples?
The first and third examples are reflexive (which explains those), but what about the second one ("comerlos")? Thanks.
I wonder why this is referred to as se aspectual, because it can be any reflexive pronoun?
La vendimia comienza en el antiguo Egipto. Por qué no el pretérito comenzó?
Does the verb "costar" always take the preposition "a" when referring to the person OR entity upon which the cost is falling? Here, "los gobiernos" are not people or favorite pets, yet the personal a is apparently indicated.
The lesson was unclear on whether this sentence structure is colloquial, formal or written only. Kindly elaborate. Regards
Oh, si la vida fuera tan simple y perfecta...
I wonder if the English translation is incorrect (specifically, the "to go"), because the Spanish sentence has no "ir" in it. Instead, there is "saltar" which the English does not seem to consider.
Va a estudiar medicina por seguir la tradición familiar.
Le dieron el trabajo por ser el primo del director.
I think these sentences would be better translated as:
She is going to study medicine because it's the family tradition.
He was given the job for being the manager's cousin.
