¿________ estás viendo en la tele?

¿________ estás viendo en la tele?

I used "Cuál" thinking that what's on television is a limited, although large, selection.  Like the example: "Cuál es tu flor favorita".

Why is "Qué" used here?

i would guess "Qué"  because not specific.     I wish this was answered.   If in the example they were in front of flower stand example would be better.

I think more types of flowers in world then tv shows.    over a 1,000 types or dahilas and roses each

Hola Seth y Goo,

I can understand your confusion because we English speakers would often use that question to mean “What [programme] are you watching on television.” However, in the lesson they strongly emphasise that “cuál” has a sense of “which one,” so if they had wanted the “cuál” answer, they would have used a question like “which programme are you watching on television;” but they didn’t. Hence “qué.” The question setters are very consistent in picking up on the key differentiating factors. Saludos. John
