Para ser sinceros"Su familia la quiere mucho y, para ser sinceros, ha hecho muchos sacrificios por sus hijos." quote from cloze exercise
I do not understand to whom 'para ser sinceros' refers to. Does it refer to 'su familia' or Eva, the daughter who made the sacrifices?
Why is 'sinceros' plural since it refers to a singular noun, either su familia or Eva?
This sentence doesn't make much sense to me.
I understand the need for para in para ser sinceros to mean in order to be sincere, but I am confused as to why sinceros is plural and to whom it refers.
Thank you.
Using para (and not por) for purpose, goal or objective
I don't feel like there is good guidance in this. I see what appears to be mixed modes- Mi and ti, but not nos- it's nosotros. If nosotros is the valid pronoun for this form, why is ti valid and tu not valid? There is no guidance here and I am constantly getting these screwed up. To me, nosotros=we, nos=us, and nuestra=our. I get it if they truly use those in that way, but please call it out as an exception so I know to memorize it that way. Otherwise I am trying to find and fit a pattern and am hitting the wall trying to pass these tests in a way that I know I can replicate this in a week or a month from now and get it correctly then as well, and not just memorize it long enough to pass the test today.
Thanks for explaining, shirley.

________ (Busquemos) un apartamento más grande para los cuatro.
Why does this sentence need a subjunctive (as stated in the hint)?
Part of a sentence in the above exercise says "Donde se encerraba a los enemigos del castillo" Should encerraba not be plural i.e. encerraban? Is it singular because " a los enemigos" is indirect? I'm confused. Why not fueron encerrados?
Shouldn't the English translation listed be "We [sit] on the bench that's furthest away." Instead of "We [are sitting] on the bench that is furthest away.
I understand that you are asking for the El Presente conjugation of sentarse in this question. I originally answered it as something like "estamos sentiando" because I saw [are sitting].
Because in another question a few below goes like "Ella [esta comiendo] en el restaurante." I understand this one is asking for Presente Progresivo/Continuo.
I see in this lesson that when the subject is the same, we should be using the infinitive. I need to work on that!
Is it ever a “tolerable” error among native speakers to commit this mistake when using a colloquial register? I frequently want to say things like “Dudo que (yo) pueda hacerlo para viernes” instead of “poder hacerlo.” I know you’re here to teach us the right way!! Just curious as to “how” wrong it is.
Hola 😊
I translated the above as Cuando me encuentre las llaves. I was marked wrong, the answer is said to lack the "me". I think without the "me" they could be anybody's keys. Am I wrong?

"I am a Gemini" would be a better English translation for this exercise. I use standard American English. :)
