If it is dependent on the speaker then how do you test students if they understand it?
All these verbs are present tense + present subjunctive. Can I use the same construction with the conditional, in those cases where we are “softening” a request?
Such as: “Yo prefería que regreses más pronto.”
Or does that need a different structure? Thank you!
I chose "Mientras que yo hice la compra" for the mini kwiz which was wrong. But one of the example sentences uses the indefinite: "Su romance fue bonito mientras duró." I guess I'm unclear about why the indefinite was wrong on the kwiz.
Also, for the sense of "mientras" meaning "as long as", could we substitute "si"?

Does this construction have the same meaning as Por mí que... or does it mean something else? It also looks like it takes the indicative rather than the subjunctive though. For example:
Por mí como si te atragantas con la magdalena.
This sounds like an amazing hotel! All that yummy food too! I would certainly spend a week there. So, if you could note the address I'd be most grateful, haha
Where in this question is there a clue as to whether to use formal or informal second person singular? Two possible correct answers without a hint!

In the above sentence, could 'la culpa' be replaced with 'culpar'? This way it would be like English.

In the first example of this lesson, could the word "solía" be omitted and simply use "nadia", as the verb tense implies "usually"?
