Hello,
If I'd to say: "His name is Francisco, but we call him Paco", would it be right to say: "Se llama Francisco pero nosotros se llamamos Paco"?
Oh I'm trying so hard, but I'll be 103 years old before I understand whether to use the imperfect or the simple past!
How do we know when to use recordar vs acordarse de? Is one used more than the other in some regions or for certain occasions/emotions?
E.g. Siempre nos acordaremos de ellos.
Hi,
I'm just wondering why didn't you group pedir with competiir/servir into one lesson. Their semi regular pattern with changes in the 3rd person only appear to be identical, and it would streamline the process.
Hola Inma,
Would "ocurrió" be an acceptable alternative here?
Saludos
John
why does uno change "a la una", but ocho does not "a las ocho en punto"? Thank you!
What does "Niños, dejad de hablar tanto." mean?
fui a malaga por/en avion
Do both of these work?
I always thought ´por´ was correct/more used?
Hello,
I was wondering why the singular "el" is used in the sentence :
"y hace escala en el Amazonas, Barbados y Chile. " I would have thought it would be plural, as they are going to several destinations and if that doesn't factor in, then the Amazonas are plural or is that considered one country. Also, would it be correct to say: "y hace escala en Amazonas, Barbados y Chile. " and leave out the "el" ?
Thank you.
I don't feel like there is good guidance in this. I see what appears to be mixed modes- Mi and ti, but not nos- it's nosotros. If nosotros is the valid pronoun for this form, why is ti valid and tu not valid? There is no guidance here and I am constantly getting these screwed up. To me, nosotros=we, nos=us, and nuestra=our. I get it if they truly use those in that way, but please call it out as an exception so I know to memorize it that way. Otherwise I am trying to find and fit a pattern and am hitting the wall trying to pass these tests in a way that I know I can replicate this in a week or a month from now and get it correctly then as well, and not just memorize it long enough to pass the test today.
