Tenses to narrate the past
Según la declaración del testigo, el ladrón _____ por la ventana. The correct answers were escapará and escaparía. But why is escapa not also correct? I thought the present tense could be used to narrate past events in literature as well.
This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Using the simple conditional/the simple future to narrate past actions in Spanish"

Hola Bonnie
True, we do use the present sometimes to narrate past events so I changed that option from the menu.
Gracias y saludos
