I am referring to Latin American Spanish vs. Castilian:

Is "Hasta ahora" used for the same purpose?  If so, is it common/ colloquial to use it? 

How would it be written? Hasta ahora pinté 2 cuartos? (He pintado / pintados ??)

For "I was shaking", is  "estaba temblando" a valid answer?  If so, is there a difference between "estaba temblando" and "temblaba"?  Is there a time where it's more appropriate to use one over the other? thanks in advance!

What is the key to make the answer "fue" rather than "estuvo"? It was a one time thing, done and over.

Is volverse used to mean radical or permanent changes as well?

Sometimes I hear, for instance, “I am dancing”, as estoy bailando.  Other times I hear, bailo.  I’ve had both marked incorrect in different instances.  So what is normally spoken?  It is confusing.

"a pesar de que" is not wrong. I think your system should be fixed.

I am just wondering why some -ir and -erverbs use -iendo and the other take -yendo.  Does it have to do with the double vowel?  Like -uir -aer -eer? 

I´m wondering how do you know when to use "conocí" or "conocía"?
