Study plan

I am at 100% on A0 and at 13% on A1. My entire study plan is full of A0 lessons that are already at 100%. Has anyone else had this happen?

Speaking speed

Hello, I appreciate the speed at which these exercises are read; it allows me to follow along and train my ears to pickup words during PURE listening.

Question: my weakest skill is listening comprehension during a conversational speech at a standard rate. What tips do you advise me to understand better native speakers speaking at normal speed?

Infinitive with "aconsejable"?Is it worth mentioning, and maybe even cautioning against the [simpler !] construction "[Es] aconsejable + infinitivo"? - i.e., writing: "sería aconsejable visitar la Casa-Museo Unamuno"? ... (My Oxford Spanish Dictionary actually includes a sentence to illustrate its use: "Es aconsejable reservar un asiento") ... Or is this considered 'sub-standard'?

My grammar book (by Butt and Benjamin) says that the verb 'aconsejar' is in a transitional state, such that it is sometimes seen followed by an infinitive rather than by a subjunctive (despite the change of subject - like 'persuadir' and several other verbs)... Perhaps the 'Academia' in Madrid needs to make a ruling on this matter?

Hi,

I am trying to determine the part of speech of the phrase 'cómo reaccionaría'.

What form of the verb reaccionar is 'reaccionaría'? I cannot find it in the verb tables I use.

hello,

I am struggling with that one, my native language is French and although my English is pretty good (I am an English teacher after all), the difference between "wanted" and "wanted" is pretty slim indeed....

isn't there a more grammatical approach to this ? I am afraid the semantics approach does not cut it for me ...

Suggestion for correction A ella le interesa la literatura francesa.She is interested in French literature. (French literature pleases her.)
Wouldn't the English translation be more correct to read "(French literature interests her.)"?

Rationale or to learn 'by heart'

I miss the rationale behind this. is this something to learn 'by heart'? as in, just learn these exceptions and you're good to go?... or is there some reasoning, eg. that without the accent it would be pronounced wrong.. this because of ?

Las or Estas for "These tickets for the tennis match are cheap."

These tickets for the tennis match are cheap. : ___ entradas para el partido de tenis son baratas.

The key word here to me is "These". The answer of "Estas entradas" is marked as wrong and should be "Las" -- which would be "The tickets for ..."

This looks like a mistake to me.

Why???

I just figured out why I'm missing all the "usted" questions. When I go study verb charts, none of them even list the formal, so I have incorrectly using the second person plural.

But why? I've been told that it's hardly used, and if they don't even include it in the conjugation charts, . . . Really?
