Proteger becomes protejo in first person present tense. Can’t you pretty much always dro the o and have the stem for the present subjunctive? For me, it is easier to remember.

Which lesson to understand reason for definite article before universidad?Miguel tuvo ________ para ir a la universidad. Miguel had fewer problems than Lisa in order to go to the university. Hola, i don’t understand the reason for the definite article in front of universidad. I looked through the lessons on definite articles but didn’t see one that applied. Which lesson would apply? Why are there 2 conjugations for El Imperfecto de Subjuntivo? Are they interchangeable? Do native speakers use both equally, or is one used much more than the other?

Question 8 and the verb 'trabajar'

For Question 8 I answered 'trabaje' believing it to be the correct subjunctive form but it was marked incorrect and 'trabaja' was given as the correct answer. Would you please explain. Many thanks.
