I am currently placed in C1 even though my brainmap shows a number of B1 and B2 cells described only as "growing confidence". Will my work in C1 contain subject matter with testing that will move "growing" to "good confidence"?  If not, how do I earn "good confidence" standing in B after I was moved to C?

Hola Sheila D.

Your placement at the C1 level indicates that you're ready to study content at that level, but it doesn't automatically update your confidence levels in competencies from lower levels such as B1 or B2. The confidence ratings shown on your Brainmap (e.g. "growing confidence") are based on how well you’ve performed on test questions that target those specific competencies.

To move from "growing confidence" to "good confidence" in B1 and B2 competencies, you’ll need to successfully answer additional test questions that directly assess those areas. While some C1 activities may include earlier-level content, not all of them will test B1/B2 competencies explicitly. Therefore, continuing work at the C1 level alone may not be enough to update your confidence scores in B1/B2.

If you'd like to build your confidence in those areas, you can:

  • Use your Notebook to collect those B1/B2 competencies and generate targeted tests.

  • Revisit earlier microkwizzes and exercises associated with those competencies.

  • Select specific Studylists focused on B1 or B2 material to practice them directly.

I hope this clarifies things, and please feel free to ask if you’d like help finding resources to practise specific B1/B2 topics.

Hasta pronto

Silvia
