The speakers are having a phone conversation.There, where you live, is it cold? : ___, donde tú vives ¿hace mucho frío?

Why is alli not possible in this question? Considering that they are on the phone, they might feel quite far apart from each other.

Tal Vez for indicative and subjunctive

Note that the construction tal vez (maybe) accepts the indicative and the subjunctive moods with no change in meaning.

What do you mean with the "maybe" after tal vez?

Preterito indefinido vs perfectoHi, I've been confused about the same thing and found the previous questions helpful..Would really like to read the link cited but system says it's not available. (Seem to be getting that reponse frequently). How can I find it? The link is: When to use El Pretérito Perfecto or El Pretérito Indefinido (present perfect or simple past)

Let's have a look at the examples:

1)

- Sorry, I couldn't come yesterday, I was a bit busy

- You couldn't have come anyway, roads were blocked because of the snowfall

2)

- I saw Maria yesterday

- You can't have seen her. She left for Bahamas three days ago

How can I express these ideas in Spanish by means of the verb poder and perfect infinitive?

Possible Error with Answers

For the quiz question ¿ _____ venir a la alberca? (Do you want to come to the pool?) there are 40+ possible answers in the dropdown, including some which look like nonsense. Is this an error in the system?

present subjunctive vs imperfect subjunctive

You have lessons covering the usage of each tense when preceded by pedir, but I don't see anything about how to distinguish when one is more appropriate than the other. The tense of "pedir" doesn't seem to factor in. There are examples of pedir followed by either tense in each lesson.
