"Alfredo se quedó tan sorprendido que se puso pálido"

Por qué no es "se puso tan sorprendido"? En la explicación de grammática 'Using convertirse en / ponerse / hacerse / quedarse´, se dice que se debería usar ´quedar´ por los cambios permenantes, y poner por los temporales.

I have a question about the final sentence of the exercise. Why does 'hasta que' invoke the subjunctive here when the action is in the past? Thanks.

is there any difference between these 2 sentences:

Sería bueno que Carmen estudiara más.

Sería bueno si Carmen estudiara más.

This sentence must surely read:

María got cross when Marcos arrived home very late.

In the Superbike translation exercise, you translated "We'll always remember this day" as "Vamos a acordarnos siempre de este día".  Why is "Vamos a recordar siempre de este dia" not also correct ?

I'm finding myself very confused because you are assuming something that I haven't been taught to assume. (I've been taught to assume something else.) I don't want to reprogram my brain! I'm content with *recognizing* (in a passive way) when the vosotros form is being used. But I'd like to continue to use ustedes when it is appropriate in the form of Spanish I've been learning and using. I don't want to learn (in an active way) the vosotros form.
