This is the first one I have failed over and over, and over again.  There is just not enough direction here to understand the differences.  Is there a source you would recommend that discusses this in more detail?

I saw this verse in NVI bible. 

"y no nos dejes caer en tentación, sino libranos del maligno."

Is it correct not to use 'sino que '?

Could you explain the quiz quiestion that I got wrong? I chose "eso", for "I like that one" (a boligrafo). The correct answer was "ese". Yet "eso" is listed a correct option in the lesson if the object is not named in the sentence. Thanks. 

Do other verbs fit this pattern? Or, just these two -ir verbs?

This time I remembered our anniversary.

It was very interesting to learn about the exams for public sector jobs in Spain. Good range of vocabulary and verb tenses. The native speaker was appropriately paced and clear for B1. Thank you for this exercise.

Can you help me understand this, please.  In my answer, I used 'ayudaban' on the basis that the help given happened more than once. It was corrected to 'ayudaron'.  Don't we have to assume though that the help/assistance was ongoing?

For "I was shaking", is  "estaba temblando" a valid answer?  If so, is there a difference between "estaba temblando" and "temblaba"?  Is there a time where it's more appropriate to use one over the other? thanks in advance!
