In one of the above examples, "la pelicula" becomes "el peliculón", and in another "tasa" becomes "tazón".  Is there a rule for when to do this gender change?

I don't understand why the English translations of the historical present are not in the English historical present. For example, "Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez dies in 2013." would be perfectly acceptable in a historical context. To use the past tense in the English examples is just confusing, since the point of the lesson is that the same tense exists in Spanish as well.

Number 7 does not seem right. Yo fui medico. Isn’t fui mean to go? I am confused. 

The kwiz question is: Cristina no sabe todavía ________ va a celebrar su cumpleaños.

The most import possibilities are dónde and donde.

If i look in the lesson: Difference between dónde and donde (with and without a written accent)

i see: if you can substitute it for "in what location", you can use dónde.

This answer was wrong, it should be donde. I don-t understand that, it seems to contradict the lesson.

The confusing part is not se vs le for me but "to" vs "for." Your explanation was that an indirect object means to him/it, etc., but the example is "for him", which is very different in English. I think this needs to be explained. When I speak I usually try to clarify with "para mi" for "for me", but it may not be right.

In English, we also say that a book is "heavy reading" when the subject matter is academic or complicated and detailed.  A subtle difference between heavy reading and difficult to read.  A book might be difficult to read if it is badly written.  Not quite the same as "heavy reading"

Does the same subtle difference exist in Spanish?
