It only says "We can also form the superlative of some adverbs with the suffix -Ăsimo", but not which ones these are.Â
There's something on cerca & lejos, but how about other irregular adverbs (those having an independant form, like bien)?
It seems these would not have any -Ăsimo from, as I neither found "lo hiciste bienĂsimo" nor "lo hiciste buenĂsimo", but solely "lo hiciste muy bien".
Hi, is despertar (Desperté) ever used for “I woke up”? I’ve seen it that way on some dictionary sites and wondered if it’s a mistake. Eg:
I woke up one morning with a sharp pain in my ear.Desperté una mañana con un dolor agudo en mi oĂdo.Many thanks,Â
Shirley.Â
In this example we have the same subject in both clauses, but still use the subjunctive:
Te pondrĂas muy triste si me vieras sufrir.
Is this because "si" is used? Would it still use the subjunctive if we use "que" in the above sentence?
Thanks.
Hi, what’s the difference between por donde and donde?
Thanks so muchÂ
Shirley.
Hi,
I thought I had answered this correctly by choosing the subjunctive of terminar: termine. But it was marked wrong with what I think is just another variation on subjunctive for terminar: terminase. (See below.)
Am I wrong? What am I missing here?
Thanks!
Dijeron que nos pagarĂan las horas extra trabajadas cuando ________ el mes.
They said they'd pay our overtime when it was the end of the month.
terminase
terminaba
terminĂł
termine
Hi, why is terminarse (vs terminar) used here: “no querĂa que se terminara”, (I didn’t want it to end). Thanks a lot,
Shirley.Â
Hello, I don’t understand why it is “le ayudó” rather than “lo ayudó” in the final sentence. To me, it is saying she helped him, so “him” is a direct object which would suggest “lo”.  Thanks for your help.  Tony
Hi, in a C1 quiz I just took, the question was the following and I entered the subjunctive as the answer (hubiera estado) but was marked wrong. I don't understand why.
Si le hubiesen admitido en el equipo, Ă©l ________ contentĂsimo.If you'd let him join the team, he'd have been thrilled.(HINT: use verb "estar")habrĂa estadohubiera estadoAren't either of these options correct according to this lesson?Â
Thanks!
