I believe that a couple of the examples used are commands (Imperatives), not subjunctive. Please clarify. Thanks
example:
¿Dígame? - Hola, ¿puedo hablar con Juan?[on the phone, lit: speak to me] Hello? - Hello, may I speak to Juan?
The question was : How would you say "If you did some exercise, you would lose weight faster." ? I understand the principle of using the subjunctive followed by the conditional simple. I don't understand why there are 2 answers.
Si hicieras más ejercicio, perderías peso más rápido.Si hicieses más ejercicio, perderías peso más rápido.Becky
When are irse and salir used? What's the difference?
Thanks
Ricky
I was reading this sentence:
The cat walks out the window.
El gato sale a la calle por la ventana.
It seemed to me that this means more like: The cat go out through
the window. So I put it into Google, which gave:
Google: The cat goes outside through the window. Then tried another site:
Reverso: The cat walks out the window.and they translated it as: The cat walks out the window.
I would appreciate getting a clarification on this. Thank you.
