The sentence says "...and he hates dogs" so we have the verb "odiar" conjugated in the 3rd person singular in the present "odia". The verb is agreeing with the subject "he".

Yo odio

Tú odias

Él/ella/usted odia

Nosotros odiamos

Vosotros odiáis

Ellos/ustedes odian.
