I currently am focusing on Latin American Spanish, specifically Mexican Spanish / Californian. What are the differences in vocabulary?
Hello,
One of the questions involved translating a sentence that mentions a “youngest daughter.” I used “muy joven” but the answer was “pequeño.” I thought that pequeño means small, so this use of the word surprises me. Is it just one of those things one has to know?
Thanks for your help!
Anne
Hola,
In the sentence "The hotel has a very big swimming pool surrounded by grass", shouldn't 'cuenta con' be an acceptable alternative to 'tiene'?
Gracias,

En la tienda no ________ ni pan ni dulces. In the shop, they didn't have bread or cakes.(HINT: Conjugate "tener" in El Pretérito Imperfecto.)
Hello is this verb correct- "arrascar"? I didn't find it in the spanishdict.com and other dictionaries I use. There is only "rascar".
Hola
With the expression pasarselo bien, I have seen examples elsewhere written "la estoy pasando bien" (ie no reflexive pronoun and a feminine direct object pronoun) Please could you explain what the "la" refers to and if both expressions are interchangeable?
Gracias
Dee
This is another one incorrectly graded. My answer was criáis, which is the correct Vosotros translation, yet is marked wrong.
This is marked wrong with continúa as the answer (my answer), yet continúa is the correct answer for the present tense and according to your own "help" text. There seems to be a lot of sloppy "teaching" in Progress Spanish lately.
