Hola Scott

Sports Celebrity :))

Hi, I’m Inma.
Hi, I’m Silvia, from Kwiziq Spanish, and today we’ve brought you a riddle so you can guess who we’re talking about. We’re going to call it “Who could it be?” It’s a very famous figure in the world of sport.
Okay.
Right, so let’s start with the clues and see if you can guess who it is. You need to listen very, very carefully to each clue that Inma and I are going to give you.
Hmm. Are you starting?
Let’s go. Clue number one. [whistle] He is one of the most decorated and successful defenders in the history of football.
And we know he’s a player who has won league titles, championships, European Championships, and a World Cup, right?
Yes, exactly. He’s a star.
Okay, I’ll go with clue number two. [whistle] This person has played for two of the most famous clubs in the world: Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
That’s right. With Real Madrid he won everything, and later he took his experience to France, where he lived with his large family—his four children and his wife, who is very well known on Spanish television. Let’s see if that helps you figure it out.
Let’s see, let’s see.
And of course, in France he shared a dressing room with big stars like Messi, Mbappé, and Neymar.
Okay. And now for clue number three. [whistle] This player is known for having an aggressive style of play, and also for scoring many goals from set pieces.
Wow, that clue might surprise you, because he’s a defender and still scores a lot of goals. In fact, many people remember his headers in the final minutes of lots of matches.
What’s the next clue? Clue number four. [whistle]
He was the captain of the Spanish national team that won the World Cup in 2010 and two European Championships in 2008 and 2012.
And that was what’s known as Spain’s golden era in football, right?
Yes.
Because at that time people talked a lot about the famous tiki-taka, which refers to a style of play typical of those players from that era, alongside Casillas, Iniesta, and Xavi.
Exactly. It’s a very well-known style of play and one that many countries wanted to copy.
Hmm.
Well, I’m not sure how our listeners are feeling or if they can already guess who it is, but let’s continue with the next clue, shall we, Inma?
Hmm, sure.
So, clue number five. [whistle] This person has lots of tattoos and is known for having a strong personality.
Hmm.
Do you agree, Inma?
I don’t know him that well, but it’s true that his tattoos are famous, right? What do you think? Do you find him attractive?
Well, personally, not really. I’d say he’s a bit average.
And finally, the last clue is clue number six. [whistle] It says that currently this person plays for Monterrey in Mexico.
Hmm.
Do you think our listeners now have a good idea of which player we’re talking about?
I think so, especially if they’re really into football.
Right, but we’re not going to reveal who it is, are we?
No, not at all. So, you need to think carefully about your answer, and if you think you know it, please share it with us in the comments section.
On the blog, right?
Exactly.
Well then, we hope you’re thinking about it and that you’ll leave us a comment. I’m sure many of you have already guessed who today’s mystery person is.
That’s right. And, also, please tell us if the clues were too easy or too difficult. Any feedback will be really helpful. And don’t forget to follow us on social media—on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
That’s right. Well, see you next time then.
See you soon.

Hello, Today is the first time I've seen the podcasts listed within the site's "Library" and noticed it because this little banner "new" popped up today (May 7, 2026) I was wondering whether the texts/transcripts are available yet? and is the audio available to non-members. (i.e. if friends could listen to it? etc?)
Also it would be nice to be able to see a classification by level beginner, middle etc? like you have in the library for other items. Great job on this addition! Nicole

Hola Nicole,

Thank you very much for your kind words, and I’m glad you noticed the new Podcasts section in the Library 😊

At the moment, transcripts or text versions are not available yet. We are still deciding on this because we would like the podcasts to keep the feel and purpose of a real podcast experience. However, we always make sure to include plenty of the vocabulary and expressions used in each podcast to help with understanding.

The audio is currently available to members only, so unfortunately non-members would not be able to listen at this stage.

And thank you as well for the suggestion about level classifications. Since we try to keep our natural accents and create conversations that sound authentic and natural, the overall level is generally around B1/B2/C1. That said, I’ll be sure to pass your feedback along to the team.

We really appreciate you taking the time to write in and share your thoughts!
