Spanish Grammar Podcast

In our “Palabras al vuelo” podcast series, you’ll listen to KwizIQ teachers Inma and Silvia’s light-hearted chats in Spanish about fun topics that are focused on useful and interesting vocabulary. In today’s podcast, Silvia and Inma talk about how they need some new clothes now that autumn has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere. And to our Spanish students in the Southern Hemisphere, we know you’re heading into spring, so bear with us! Follow their conversation, which includes a role-play where you’ll hear lots of useful vocabulary related to autumn clothes.

📚 Vocabulary
Here are some of the most interesting words and phrases used in our podcast:
- cambio de estación = change of season
- la ropa de otoño = autumn clothes [US: fall clothes]
- la estación = season
- el verano = summer
- la primavera = spring
- el otoño = autumn
- el invierno = winter
- hace mucho frío = it’s very cold
- llover = to rain
- encender la calefacción = to turn the heating on [US: to turn the heat on]
- la estufa = heater / stove
- un abrigo nuevo = a new coat
- una bufanda larga = a long scarf
- unos guantes = gloves
- una chaqueta para todos los días = an everyday jacket
- un chubasquero = a raincoat [US: rain jacket]
- unas botas de agua = wellies / Wellington boots [US: rain boots]
- un gorro de lana = a woolly hat [US: a knit hat / beanie]
- un jersey gordo = a thick jumper [US: a thick sweater]
- de hilo = knitted / made of yarn or thread
- de algodón = cotton / made of cotton
