¡Anda, qué bien te han dejado en la peluquería!

Could this also be stated as? ...

¡Anda, qué bien te han hecho en la peluquería!

Or is that rude? I probably wouldn't have thought to use dejado.

Hola Vince

"hacer" doesn't really work in Spanish here. We use "dejar" in this context for when you have something done at the hairdressers or you go for a makeover. So, when you're done, you can say to the person something like: "Uy, te han dejado estupenda." as if saying, they did a good job! the result is great! 

Here, in our lesson about the verb "dejar" and its different uses/meanings, you can see this use in point number 4 in the second block, when referring to people.
