“Fuera de” and “dentro de” are opposites, but they are not always used in exactly the same way.

• Dentro de + noun means inside a physical or abstract limit:

  Dentro de la casa, dentro del plazo, dentro de la caja.

• Fuera de + noun means outside that limit, but it is more commonly used to express exclusion or being beyond a range, not just physical location:

  Fuera de la casa, fuera de horario, fuera de contexto, fuera de control.

So while both can describe physical space, “fuera de” is very often idiomatic, referring to something that does not belong, does not apply or is not included.

Examples:

So yes, they mirror each other spatially, but “fuera de” has a broader, more abstract use that goes beyond simple location.
