Some Spanish verbs end in -ducir. They undergo a consonant change when they are conjugated in the preterite tense.

Conducir, producir, introducir, traducir and other verbs ending in -ducir are irregular in El Pretérito Indefinido in Spanish but follow the same pattern, replacing ‑ducir with:
yo | -duje |
tú | -dujiste |
él / ella / Ud. | -dujo |
nosotros / nosotras | -dujimos |
vosotros / vosotras | -dujisteis |
ellos / ellas / Uds. | -dujeron |
Notice the -c- has become -j-. There's a full list of verbs following this pattern at the bottom.
It is also important to note that the ending for the ellos conjugation is -eron, not -ieron as in regular -ir verbs in El Pretérito Indefinido (ellos abrieron, ellos vivieron...)
