Margarita Salas was a renowned scientist and advocate for women in science. She specialised in biochemistry and molecular genetics and was the first woman to be elected to the Royal Spanish Academy. She was ennobled in 2008, becoming Marquesa de Canero. During her life she won many awards, including the European Inventor award in 2019, the year of her death (aged 80). In this video, she is interviewed by María Blasco, who was one of Salas's PHD students. María Blasco is currently the Director of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas, CNIO).

During the interview, both of them, but in particular María Blasco, repeat words and interject question tags like ¿no? which don't have a translation or meaning.
