The Caribbean is much more than beautiful beaches and turquoise seas. It’s a fascinating region made up of many islands, each with its own history, traditions and culture. Together, they create a vibrant mix of music, food, languages and celebrations.

Boricua is a word Puerto Ricans proudly use to describe themselves. It comes from Borikén, the island’s original TaÃno name, and symbolises Puerto Rican identity, culture and heritage.
You’ll hear it often in music, conversations and celebrations, making it one of the most meaningful words in Puerto Rican Spanish.
