It’s one of those small phrases that can make a big difference to the way you sound in Spanish. Native speakers use it all the time to show warmth and appreciation, so adding it to your speaking toolkit will help your conversations feel more natural, friendly and authentic. Give it a try the next time someone does something kind for you, and you’re sure to make them smile!

“¡Eres un sol!”
If you want to say something nice to someone in Spanish, you can say “Eres un sol.” It’s a nice compliment used to describe someone who is kind, warm, caring, cheerful…
It means that the person brightens other people’s lives, just like the sun. In English, similar expressions are “You’re a sweetheart” or “You’re wonderful.”

Eres un sol por ayudarme con la mudanza.
You’re a sweetheart for helping me with the move.
Mi profesora es un sol; siempre tiene paciencia con sus alumnos.
