Why is it esta rather than estan when referring to las oficinas (plural of office)?

Hola Llew,

This sentence from the quiz, using "oficinas" in plural has set as a correct answer "están", not "está".

Las oficinas están en el centro de la ciudad. (The offices are in the city center.)
