Use of subjunctive mode

Hi, the final sentence which ends ".....o encontrar a alguien que también pase de estos juegos.".  Is the subjunctive mode of the verb 'pasar' being used here because there is uncertainty as to whether a person one might meet does play these dating games or not? So if the indicative 'pasa' were used, the meaning would be changed to finding someone who definitely would play these games.

Hola Tony H.

Yes, that's right. The subjunctive pase is used because the speaker is referring to a person they hope or expect to find, but whose existence or identity is still unknown.

If you used the indicative (pasa), it would imply that you're referring to a specific person or to someone whose existence is already known.

So the choice between the subjunctive and the indicative reflects whether the person is hypothetical/unknown or known to exist.

Un saludo

Silvia
