Use of definite articles before a country name
“Tú debes viajar a la India.” Is it correct to have a definite article in this sentence? “You must travel to THE India?”

Yes, some countries (most of them don't) use sometimes the article, for example "la India", "la Argentina" or "los Estados Unidos". You can use or omit the article, both options are correct.
