frances vs franceses

On this question, "Me encantan los quesos franceses y las tartas ________." the correct answer is marked as francesas. 

Isn't the french cheese masculine, "el queso francés"? So isn't the answer franceses?

Hola Stephen

Yes, "quesos" is masculine plural and it needs the adjective "franceses" as the text is showing, but the adjective we are testing here is the one attached to the next noun, which is feminine: tartas, therefore you need "francesas".
