Nouns ending in -e in Spanish

Some Spanish nouns that end in -e are masculine and some others are feminine. See the following examples:

El coche no funciona.The car is not working.

Te gusta el chocolate.You like chocolate.

Tengo una llave para el buzón.I have a key for the letter box.

La noche es oscura y silenciosa.The night is dark and silent.

Whichever gender they have, they all form their plural by adding an -s. 

Read and listen to these examples:

El ingrediente es caro. Los ingredientes son caros.The ingredient is expensive. The ingredients are expensive.

La vidente es buena. Las videntes son buenas.The clairvoyant is good. The clairvoyants are good.

El aceite es graso. Los aceites son grasos.The oil is greasy. The oils are greasy.

La carne es sabrosa. Las carnes son sabrosas. The meat is tasty. The meats are tasty.
