The Romans arrived in Spain many years ago and brought much progress with them. They spoke Latin, were good architects and built bridges and roads. Cities like Mérida and Tarragona have impressive Roman ruins. The Romans also introduced new foods to Spain, built large baths for bathing and made aqueducts to carry water. Today we can visit these ruins. The legacy of Ancient Rome is very important in Spain.
