Newsletter: El Día de los Trabajadores

El Día de los Trabajadores

You might notice the newsletter looks a little different today; this is part of a fresh new format we’re rolling out to make things clearer, more fun and easier to follow. Hope you like it!

Since it’s International Workers’ Day, I thought it was the perfect time to kick things off with a theme that’s all about work, giving special attention to the word curro (used in Spain) in our new space called palabra curiosa (fun word), where we will be exploring quirky or useful bits of Spanish. To make the most of International Workers’ Day, I’m going all in on this theme today!

¡Nos interesa mucho tu opinión! We would love to hear your impressions of this Newsletter, so please join us on the forum and share your thoughts with us and the Kwiziq community.

Palabra curiosa

Curro ✨

Curro is slang for job/work and we also have currar and currante, which are from the same word family. Have a look at some sentences using these words:

🟢 “Estoy buscando curro.”
🟢 “Me voy, que tengo que currar.”
🟢 “Este tío es muy currante.”

To learn more about this super common word we use in Spain, check out this special article:

Colloquial: curro, currar, currante/-a

If you’d like to go further, I’ve put together something to help you master the topic of jobs in Spanish with confidence:
