Spanish online reading and listening practice – level B2

Cuenca in Ecuador is a UNESCO World Heritage site and it celebrates Independence Day every 3 November. As such, it comes hot on the heels of two other national holidays: All Saints’ Day on November 1st, and the Day of the Dead, celebrated on the 2nd of November. This makes for a long break everyone looks forward to!

This reading and listening exercise can help you practise using the gerund to say while [doing something], using the infinitive after prepositions and la pasiva refleja. You will also see a Latin American usage of the time adverb recién.
