Newsletter: Black Friday 🛍️

Black Friday

Believe it or not, Black Friday is here again, so this week we are doing “everything shopping“. We talk about hunting for bargains, choosing between online and in-store shopping and highlight a useful Spanish word in our La palabra curiosa section that will help you when you practice this topic.

You will find all of this in this week’s activities. There is also a reminder about our upcoming Advent calendar, which you will be able to start opening on December 1.

¡Nos vamos de compras! 🛍️

Inma and Silvia as thinking about shopping

On this new podcast (five minutillos), Silvia and Inma chat about their shopping preferences. One prefers going to the shop, the other finds it more useful to do it online. Who prefers what?

This time, we have added three mini comprehension questions for you to try. Share your answers in the comments section of the blog you will find when you click on the podcast article.

La Palabra curiosa

“Ganga”

bargain

¿Do you know what ganga means? It’s a very handy word for the topic of Black Friday because this is exactly what you find when shopping during these days: ¡muchas gangas!

Ganga is a Spanish word people use when they find something really cheap, like a super good deal. It’s when you buy something and feel like you got way more than what you paid for.

Mira lo que he comprado en el mercadillo por 6 euros, ¡Es una ganga!
Look what I bought at the market for 6 euros, it’s a bargain!

Qué de gangas hay en esa tienda… Voy a volver mañana de nuevo.
There are so many bargains in that shop… I’m coming back tomorrow.
