Spanish verbs that end in -guir change from -gu- to -g- in the yo form. For example seguir (to follow/continue): 

yo sigo
tú sigues
él / ella / Ud. sigue
nosotros / nosotras   seguimos
vosotros / vosotras  seguís
ellos / ellas / Uds.  siguen
Some other verbs affected by this specific consonant switch are:
  • perseguir (to chase) 
  • conseguir (to get)  
  • proseguir (to continue)
