Using traer with "we"

Question

There is a lot to unpack in this lesson and I'm finding parts of it quite difficult to comprehend. For example, I see three forms of traer used in examples that express "we." Also examples for "can we have" that do not contain a conjugation of "poder."

Also I don't know where to find explanations of the different tenses, preteritos, etc. of both traer and llevar that are used in this lesson, so a link to the related lesson would help us out. Thank you. I can tell this was a difficult one to put together and I appreciate your effort.

The reason why you find slightly different translations in the English (non literal ones) is because we can use the present tense in a question without the need to use the modal verb "can you...?" 
So you can see in the lesson for example:
Camarero, ¿nos trae la cuenta por favor?
Waiter, can we have [lit: do you bring us] the bill please?
Another example with another verb could be:
¿Me pasas la sal?
Can you/will you pass me the salt?
There's no need to include "puedes..." in Spanish although you could also say ¿Me puedes pasar la sal?In English, you would always include the modal verb so you don't sound rude.
I checked the sentences and the tenses used in them. We try to not use tenses that are very advanced for the level of the specific lesson but sometimes we can't avoid it because those are the most natural tenses that one would use for that topic (in this case these verbs) 
Llevar is a regular verb in all tenses, but traer isn't, so here are the lessons for different conjugations of "traer":
