Using encontrar here

"Encuentra a Andrew atractivo." Sounds funny to me, but I'm not a native speaker.

I got a little stumped on this one, but I wrote "Ella piensa que es atractivo (or would it be "sea" because of pensar?)

Hola Barbara

"Encuentra a Andrew atractivo" is a correct and natural way to say 'She finds Andrew attractive' in Spanish. It might sound unusual because of the direct translation from English, but it’s commonly used among native speakers.

Alternatives like "Ella piensa que Andrew es atractivo" or "Ella considera que Andrew es atractivo" are also acceptable and we have included them in the exercise.

Regarding the use of the subjunctive "sea", it is not needed with "pensar" when expressing a straightforward opinion.

To sum up, feel free to use "encontrar" in this context; it's a versatile and widely understood way to convey such perceptions in Spanish.

Saludos

Silvia
