Use of subjunctive

sin importar su origen se les llame "gallegos. Why is  the the subjunctive used with llamar rather that the indicative?

The whole sentence is this one:
Lo que hace que hoy a los inmigrantes españoles de allí, sin importar su origen, se les llame gallegos. 
If we take off the extra elements in the sentence, we can see more clearly what triggers the subjunctive here:
Lo que hace que a los inmigrantes se les llame gallegos. 
The verb hacer is considered a "verbo de influencia" which are those that influence a person to do something, for example: obligar, ordenar, permitir, animar, hacer... When these are used with "que", the subjunctive is used. Other sentences are for example:

Ella hizo que me sintiera fatal.
She made me feel awful.
Estás haciendo que me ponga más nervioso. 
You are making me more nervous (that I get more nervous).
Has hecho que la chica se sonroje.
You made that girl blush.
