In the sentence 'David actoweluaba como si lo supiera todo' what is the function of 'lo'? Is it that 'el' cannot be used after after a word ending in a vowel?

This use of lo here is emphatic:

David actuaba como si lo supiera todo.

(David was acting as if he knew everything.)

You can also use it in the English, I think, if you said "David was acting as if he knew it all.

Our "lo" would be that neutral "it".
