"Una ave bonita"

"Una ave bonita"

I said this phrase was incorrect as I though the a in ave would change the una to an un.

However I was marked wrong and apparently it is a correct phrase.

Is this another exception to the rule?

Hola Chris

Both un and una are accepted with these words that are feminine and start with a stressed "a", like ave. In the lesson we explain how the only use the definite article "el ave" (not la ave) but they can use both un and una: un ave bonita, una ave bonita.

I hope this clarified it.

Saludos
