Could you differentiate the usage of tras rather than después (de) in daily use please?

Both “tras” and “después (de)” can mean “after”, but they differ slightly in usage and tone.
In everyday Spanish, “después (de)” is much more common and flexible. You’ll hear it frequently in both spoken and written language:
Después de comer, salimos a pasear.
“Tras”, on the other hand, is a bit more formal and often used in written contexts (news, literature, formal speech). It can usually replace “después de”, but it’s less common in casual conversation:
Tras la reunión, tomaron una decisión.
In terms of meaning, they are generally interchangeable, but the key difference is register (formal vs neutral/everyday).
