Translation of a sentence

Why is this sentence: Yo he llegado pronto a trabajar esta tarde? Translated as “I arrived early to work this morning” and not “I have arrived early to work this morning”? The present perfect tense includes the use of have correct?

Hola Kimberly

This is because we tend to use the most natural translation in English despite not always being literal translations. In a case like this when it is testing conjugation, we'll always include a hint saying which tense you need to conjugate it, e.g. "Conjugate the tú form of estar in El Pretérito Indefinido".

I hope it clarified it.

Saludos

Inma
