This question relates to:Spanish lesson "Some Spanish nouns have both genders without a change of meaning"

Hola A
If you read the first meaning in RAE for "calor", this is what it says:
1. m. Sensación que se experimenta ante una elevada temperatura. En And. y algunos lugares de Am., u. t. c. f.
In case you are not sure of what the last bit refers to, it means:
In Andalucía and other places in America it´s also used as feminine ( this is what u.t.c.f means: utilizado también como femenino)
Saludos
