The vosotros forms

The vosotros forms

Confession. I always cheat on questions regarding the second person plural because I live in California where I have frequent opportunities to use Spanish and hope to have more both at home and in travels to Central and South America. No disrespect to Spain, but is there any way to alter my tests so they exclude questions which test Spanish as it's spoken in Spain. Thanks.

Hola Herb,

I am afraid at the moment there is no way to opt out of the "vosotros" quizzes. There are plans to make Kwiziq more flexible to students who focus on Latin American Spanish but not in the short term.

Saludos

Herb: I too thought that I would never need or want to use the vosotros form, until I fell in with a bunch of crazy awesome madrileños here in the States. I’m starting to embrace it on Kwiziq  & I encourage you to do the same, even if you keep “cheating” your way through - enjoy it as a way to build passive/receptive knowledge of the conjugations, so you’ll have that understanding in your back pocket at some point if you do make friends with españoles.

That said, I wish that there were as many high-quality and well-structured grammar & vocab resources for LA Spanish as there are for peninsular Spanish.

I'm with you on that Herb. If I ever go to Spain, I will just used ustedes anyway, because I won't have any close friends to use vosotros with.  I haven't been cheating on vosotros because I didn't even think to do that... I've just been skipping those questions. But I think now I will start to "cheat" on those.
