Sigue caminando un poco más y verás una farmacia.

Why isn't it sigues when verás is used. Is it Tú or Usted?

Hola Michele M.

In this sentence, the two verbs are using different structures.

Sigue caminando is an informal command (). It comes from the verb seguir and means keep walking or continue walking. The imperative form for is sigue.

The second verb verás is the future tense of ver in the form (you will see). It’s often used in Spanish directions to express something that will happen after you follow the instruction.

So the sentence is addressing  and it means:

Keep walking a little further and you’ll see a pharmacy.

If we were using usted, the sentence would change slightly:

Siga caminando un poco más y verá una farmacia.

So the structure is consistent: the example simply uses the form for both parts of the sentence.

Hasta pronto

Silvia
