Querría vs. Quería - What's the difference?

Both seem to mean exactly the same thing. Also, there is only the one 'r' which is causing difference between the two? Can they be used interchangeably?

Hola Dhruv,

Yes, both quería and querría are interchangeably in this context, as a courtesy formula.

Quería coincides with the form of the verb querer in the Imperfect tense.

Querría coincides with the form of the verb querer in the Conditional.

But here their function is that of asking politely. We mustn't think about which tense they are.

Un saludo,

Inma
