pretérito perfecto = past perfect, no?

ha ha aborrecido is present perfect, no? había aborrecido is past perfect, no?

If not, then I am totally confused with the Qwiziqs . . .

Hola Garry M.

Yes, that’s right:

  • ha aborrecidoPresent Perfect (El Pretérito Perfecto in Spanish)

  • había aborrecidoPast Perfect (El Pretérito Pluscuamperfecto in Spanish)

The tricky bit is that in Spanish grammar, pretérito perfecto does not mean “past perfect” — it’s actually the present perfect in English.
