What is the difference between ‘el pretérito perfecto’ and ‘el pretérito perfecto compuesto’ ?

There is no difference at all, the present perfect (in English) is sometimes called El Pretérito Perfecto and sometimes El Pretérito Perfecto Compuesto. The latter is to differentiate it from "El Pretérito Perfecto Simple" which is the "past simple" ( I did, you did, he did...).
