Por culpa de

When you say that we use  "por culpa de" for something  with a negative result and use the example as given above " por culpa de mi novio soy la mujer más feliz del mundo........" Why do you say that this sentence has a negative result?

Hola Alka,

we explain in the lesson that genarally "por culpa de" is a "because of " with a negative meaning, but later on we say that we can also use "por culpa de" in an "ironic way" actually meaning "thanks to". So this sentence is an example of that:

"Por culpa de mi novio soy la mujer más feliz del mundo"

Literally this is "It is my boyfriend's fault that I am the happiest woman.", but as this is nothing negative, what we really mean is "thanks to my boyfriend..."

Saludos
