Para ti es muy fácil todo

Hola,

As a matter of interest, what would the difference in meaning be if 'por' were substituted for 'para'.

The online translator I use says that they are the same.

Gracias.

Hola Colin

As you probably know, por and para are used with different purposes and different nuances. In the case of that sentence you mention from the lesson:

Para ti es muy fácil todo.

For you everything is easy.

using "por ti" wouldn't make any sense. But if we use this other sentence for example:

Lo hice todo por ti.

I did everything for you. (because of you - you were the reason why I did it)

vs

Lo hice todo para ti.

I did everything for you. (with the purpose to please you - you are the one who benefits from my actions)

So, you can see that the nuance is different when we use one or the other. Sometimes, though, there is a very thin line between the two meanings. You should be able to see all our POR vs PARA kwiziq lessons by clicking here, if you want to focus your learning on this topic and maybe add some of those to your notebook.

Saludos
